I thought the ear of corn would take a long time, but it was pretty quick.

The older (and wiser) I get, the more I realize that my role as a parent is primarily to help preserve my children’s sense of wonder, self-confidence, and love of self and world.
I was raised to worry. I know they meant well, but it’s the worst thing to teach your child. It fosters anxiety and self-doubt.

I am drawing a page every day. And it’s not always easy. I often sigh…and I feel resistance. But forcing myself to do it (and publish it!) is good for me. I’m strengthening my artist’s voice. The leopard is cross-eyed. The cowboy looks more like an ape than Clint Eastwood. It’s all Ok. Makes me laugh.

Don’t multi-task. You cannot possibly be total in what you are doing. Being total in what you are doing is the essence of presence…of true joy.
