Tired of Starting Over?

Image result for nike just do it

Today’s motto (for me) is “just do it.”

I’m in the middle of the National Board of Certification process and one requirement is to take two 15-minute videos of myself teaching and to analyze them. In order to do this, I must view the videos. Repeatedly.

I do not like to hear myself – alone see myself – on screen.

At last, I did it. And you know what? It wasn’t terrible.

So, today, I encourage you to “just do it.” If it needs to be done, but you dread it, know that it’s OK.

If you need a more aggressive motivational message, watch Shia below:

  1. Someone says video and we all think of either the well lit and doctored Hollywood Elite or the myriad unwashed masses who unwrap boxes and talk about nothing in YouTube “reviews” and there we are, no supporting cast, no makeup crew…. The professor had to put up about 5 minutes of unscripted video for Digital Frontiers/Scholarship last week. It must have taken half an hour. I felt sorry for the crew. She came home, said that she was doing fine until she had to keep starting over because “digital” was coming out every which way but “digital”. From a woman who has danced ballet most of her life, taught English/Comp/Lit for (ahem) years at the college level, presented at Oxford…And there she is, didgikal…dig-itual…dig…

    Good Luck!
