Student Reflection #1
I’ve had a record number of late work assignments turned in this year. For each assignment submitted late, I’m having students complete this form. Something tells me this will not be the only form this student submits this year…
Samuel Adams
My fifth-grade class was conducting research on Loyalists vs Patriots pre-Revolutionary War. Students were assigned Benjamin Franklin, Lord Dunmore, Tom Hutchinson, Mercy Otis Warren, or Samuel Adams.
One of my students was perplexed.
“I have Samuel Adams and I don’t understand this word: ‘lager'”.
What We Want From Friends
I had my 5th graders list the most important characteristics in their friends – and to prioritize them. Here are two responses:
You’ve got to love how candid kids can be – “too talkative” – nobody likes that, right?
I noticed that out of 61 5th graders, “trust” and “kindness” were the top two answers.
