“I…I’ve been going through a hard time,” Chloe stammered.

What Harry saw startled him: boxes upon boxes stacked throughout the home and spilled food everywhere. Chloe’s house was a mess.

Sammy the Sea Turtle makes an unannounced visit to Chloe. Her fins were mottled and her eyes were bloodshot.

Chloe’s friends met.
“I’m concerned about Chloe,” said Anne.
“She seems sad and distracted,” added Liz.
“She told me she’s OK and just wants space,” Bruce informed them.
“Let’s give her space to figure it out,” they agreed.

She stood there and stared at the boxes. How could she be so excited to buy them and now feel so ambivalent? Her heart fluttered. She had no more credit for purchases. And her clutter was leading to less and less room in her home.
To get her mind off of her problems, she decided to watch some TV and have a snack.

The doorbell rang. Chloe signed for her boxes and set them down by the door. She could hear B.B. King’s voice singing, “The thrill is gone. The thrill is gone away. The thrill is gone, baby. The thrill is gone away…”

“Want to see a movie tonight?” Bruce asked.
“Sure. Let’s go see the new Korean movie that won four Oscars!” Chloe said excitedly.
“Parasite? Awesome. I’ll pick you up at 7.”

The next day, Annie Anthias invited Chloe over to hang out. They exchanged seaweed soup recipes and baked shrimp cakes. Annie wanted to go on the Keto diet together. She had gained some weight TV binging and hadn’t been to the gym in months.
“We can’t go on that diet! Where in the coral reef would we find cauliflower and cheese?” asked Chloe.

Chloe did not think so: work, dating, money…it was all too much. She clicked the “add to cart” button but decided to hold off on purchasing the purse. She had 8 other items in the cart and made a mental note to revisit the website at home that night. She felt very excited and powerful which was a lot better than feeling anxious.
