In the desert, I
run into a spiderweb
bewitched by beauty
Georgia O’Keefe was a great lover of flowers. She believed that looking into a flower, you were in a new world and she wanted everyone to have that experience. But alas, she knew too many people were in a constant state of hurry. Wouldn’t this world be a better place if more people stopped to admire flowers?

When I walk among the trees,
I drink in the rays of light
that peek through the leaves
and my feet crunch the “dead” things
but they are not lifeless
see here?
insects march and work
fungus and lichen exchange food
the twigs lie in wait
to service fires and soil
and you are not dead – never were –
your spirit lives on in everyone you ever met

We rode the Sea to Sky gondola in Squamish today. It was a 12 minute ride to the top and, after three days of looking skyward to the tops of pine trees, now we were looking down on those beautiful giants!
After our ascent, we walked around and crossed a pedestrian suspension bridge. It’s thrilling to cross the vast expanse when the entire bridge reacts to your every move.

The fog, as you can see, was thick all around us.
A visit to this place is highly recommended: https://www.seatoskygondola.com/adventures/suspension-bridge

Nature is never wrong.
Thus, nature can be a good teacher.
Birds express “anger” to protect their young and their territory.
Thus, it’s perfectly fine to avoid people who invade your space and privacy and create drama.
Protect yourself and just say no.

Moment by moment,
with each flick of the paintbrush
each note of music played –
each scratch of the pen –
and every key stroke –
beauty!
…and thus, joy
Bliss is in the details

My passion for poetry is positively preposterous
careful contemplation,
delicate design of discourse,
imagination, inspiration and impact,
I’m in awe: affectionately and alliteratively amazed
